ENTERTAINMENT AND EVENTS PRODUCTION  COORDINATOR

Big Top Sydney: located inside iconic Luna Park, has played host to world-wide talent including Soundgarden, The Prodigy, Calvin Harris, Bruno Mars, Kylie Minogue, The Pixies, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Keys, Slayer, DMX, Ice Cube, Hilltop Hoods, The Doobie Brothers, Chicago, America and more.
We also host a variety of events including combat sports, ballroom dancing, ballet, world music concerts, roller derby, children’s events such as Yo Gabba Gabba and Hi-5, as well as annual festivals, exhibitions and conferences. The sky is the limit at the Big Top!
A rare opportunity is now available to join our enthusiastic Entertainment Team at Luna Park, in the full-time position of Entertainment & Events Production Coordinator.

the position:

This is a role that has a lot of autonomy to successfully coordinate the production, delivery and administrative requirements for The Big Top entertainment bookings.
This position requires a hardworking, independent self-starter with adept organisational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously, and at times with urgency. To thrive in our faced paced environment, it is important the Entertainment & Events Production Coordinator is resilient, creative resolving problems/finding solutions, plans ahead to anticipate needs and can work cohesively with a variety of stakeholders to ‘keep the show on the road’.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Armed with problem-solving skills and a pro-active approach you will be expected to successfully oversee all aspects of the technical production and venue logistical elements for a broad range of entertainment including live music, concerts and a variety of cultural performances. Additionally, you will arrange production schedules, equipment hire and planning for all entertainment including Luna Park produced events. In particular, we are looking for confident communicators who can establish strong relationships and relate well to a wide range of personalities.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated event production and coordination experience, audio, lighting, staging and multipurpose venue knowledge. Applicants will require a good understanding of WH&S, risk management and an ability to juggle the requirements of venue hirers, production crew, promoter reps, security and the Operations team as well as patrons, contractors and industry partners in order to execute seamless production of our Events.
Experience with VISIO will be a definite advantage, intermediate word and excel skills are required and knowledge of web design is preferred but not essential.
Flexibility is required as this position may require some weekend and evening work depending on the venue’s operational needs and the event schedule. Please note this is not an event manager role.
